Natalie Goodman

Natalie began creating detailed freehand machine embroideries in 2017 as a way to relax after work. Now retired, she has more time to fully explore her art, developing new work and techniques.

She draws inspiration from nature, during her daily walks on the Northumbrian beaches and hills. Constantly taking photographs, to record the changing light and seasons, to replicate in her work.
Natalie finds that using textiles provides constant challenges and opportunities and she draws on a wide range of techniques, mixing stitching with silk painting, dying, felt work, quilting and eco printing.

Her wide-ranging palette of threads of every type and shade, allows her to stitch the minute details, which create such fascination in her work.
