Welcome to Art Trail Northumberland and Scottish Borders 2025
The Tin Shed's Art Trail is an exciting new series of arts' events, exhibitions, fairs, workshops, demonstrations and open studios at various venues and locations across Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.
Spread across the entire year, the spotlight will fall on specific locations at different dates, showcasing art in one of more venue in the form of an art fair, along with exhibitions, workshops open studios and much more. Starting in March 2025, each location will be different. Some will contain just one venue with an art fair, others will also include exhibitions, workshops, open artists' studios and galleries.
Our aim is to make the Art Trail different each year, incorporating our existing events, as well as finding new locations and venues, with more local artists and makers.
The Trail, will stretch across Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, introducing you to local artists and makers along the way. Every one of them is a small independent local business, who designs and creates everything from scratch. We hope to help them reach an even wider audience and also support other local businesses and arts' venues in the area at the same time.
Please keep an eye on our event pages for updates about the new Art Trail as we'll be adding dates and venues for 2025 soon.

Art at Etal
This is where our 2025 Art Trail begins.
We start our journey on 9th April with a special Easter event, at one of our established regular venues - Etal Village Hall, Ford and Etal, Northumberland. We hold regular events there on the second Wednesday of each month, so we're there every month till October.
This easter event will involve an art fair showcasing work by a number of local artists and artisan makers, along with a separate special exhibition. Every month at Etal is different, with new artists and new work to see each time.

Art in Alnwick
Our art's journey continues next with the first of two visits to Alnwick.
Art in Alnwick takes place at St James' Church Centre on Pottergate on Saturdays April 19th and then again on July 26.
This is a new venue for 2025, where we'll be showing the work of around 20 artists and makers. Each Saturday visit coincides with the regular weekly Alnwick market surrounded by other local art galleries and artisan shops.
Find out more here.
Art in Embleton
The next stop is another new location for us, this time we're heading off to Embleton on Sunday May 3rd, on the stunning Northumberland coast. There'll be an artisan fair in the village's Creighton Memorial Hall, while across the road at the historical Holy Trinity Church is an exhibition and arts' demonstration. There will also be bakes and refreshments at the parish meeting room next door to the church.
Whalton Art Fairs
We're making two visits to beautiful Whalton Village, near Morpeth in Northumberland in 2025 - on Sundays May 25 and October 5. Each time we'll be joined at Whalton Village Hall by around 20 artists and makers. We may have a separate exhibition, demo or workshop there at the same time. Please visit the event page to find out more.
Art in the Castle
We return to beautiful Ayton Castle, near Eyemouth in the Scottish Borders for our annual visit. Find us there on Saturday and Sunday, August 23-24, with 20 local artists who'll be showcasing their original art and artisan craft.
The castle remains a private home and rarely opens to the public, so this is a great opportunity to visit. As well as the amazing work of our artists, the castle's own contemporary and very unusual art collection will also be on display. Find out more about the event via the link below.
