Lydia London

Lydia London is a visual artist based in Midlothian, Scotland. Her paintings are inspired by the woodland landscapes and gnarled trees she finds on her travels across Scotland, as well as in Europe and Canada.

Lydia's paintings are created with mixable oil paint on canvas.
Colour plays a very important role in these works. She uses warm and unusual hues of pinks, oranges and reds to set off the lush green tones of the foliage.
Lydia was born in North Wales and completed her degree in Fine Art at Newcastle University (2012-2016). She also gained a MSc in History of Art, Theory and Display at the University of Edinburgh (2020-2022).
Unsurprisingly, Lydia is passionate about trees and forests as well as the preservation of wildlife. She says that climate change is a real threat to our natural environment and being stewards of nature is more important than ever - a message she echoes in her creations.
